from the hospice... a snowy, cold dawn in Nagasaki

This is the first sketch after we lost a family member in the early morning hours of January 1st, drawn from the hospice room window. Nagasaki received a record snowfall the day before, and it was still snowing that morning. I will always remember this scene... serene, peaceful, beautiful, and grey.

 Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he restores my soul.
Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever. (Ps 23:1-2,6)
